The purpose of this data collection is to have accurate national data on organs procured, transplanted, exported and imported and sent for research.
All organs procured, transplanted, exported and imported in the Republic of Ireland.
National data collection started in 2016 by the ODTI and is ongoing. Each year sets starts on the 1st of January and finishes on the 31st December.
All organ donations in the Republic of Ireland are coordinated through the National Organ Procurement Service in the ODTI. Ethical guidelines protect the interests of deceased organ donors, their families, and transplant recipients.
