Government Approval of Report of the Commission on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance
The Health Information and Quality Authority today welcomed the Government’s approval of Building a Culture of Patient Safety: Report of the Commission on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance.
Dr Tracey Cooper, Chief Executive of the Authority, said: "This is an important step forward in driving the provision of high quality and safe care for people in Ireland and will make a difference for people using the services and also the staff providing them. The Report specifies wide ranging recommendations that cover the key requirements for a patient-centred, reliable and accountable health system that is focused on continuously improving patient safety and quality.
“In the Authority, our primary role is to drive patient safety and quality. Therefore, we will do everything we can, and work with all the people involved, to support the implementation of the recommendations.”
