The Registered Provider of Mullross Nursing Home, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, has notified the Authority that he has accepted the decision of the Authority to cancel his registration as the registered provider of Mullross Nursing Home, pursuant to Section 51 of the Health Act 2007.

The Authority, acting in the public interest and in the interest of the health, safety and quality of life of the residents, has agreed that the Health Service Executive will take charge of Mullross Nursing Home from 4.30pm today, 4 January 2013, in accordance with Section 64 of the Health Act 2007 and with the full cooperation of the Registered Provider. HIQA has asked the HSE to make alternative arrangements for the management of the nursing home as soon as practicable. During this time the Authority will maintain its statutory role in assessing the quality and safety of the services provided to the residents.
