HIQA have established a new review programme to monitor compliance with National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare for eHealth services within the HSE in Ireland, specifically in respect of patient safety and data quality.

This aim of the review programme is to drive quality improvements by identifying areas of good practice and areas where improvements are necessary across eHealth services within the HSE.

There are two phases to the Review programme – firstly, to develop a methodology to conduct the review and secondly to undertake reviews of national eHealth services. This guidance document outlines how HIQA will review eHealth services against the National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare in order to monitor levels of compliance.
