This report provides an overview of HIQA’s regulation of designated centres for people with disabilities during 2019. During the year, we monitored compliance with regulations and national standards across 1,268 such centres. This report highlights examples of good practice and areas where improvements are still required, and where people with disabilities in residential services are still restricted from exercising their human rights equally.
