HIQA has published a report on national diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) for general radiography, mammography and DXA scanning. DRLs represent standard levels of radiation in Irish medical services and have been updated following a survey by HIQA in 2020. This report presents an overview of the findings from this survey. HIQA aims to share learnings to help service providers optimise patient doses to further improve safety around ionising radiation in Ireland.
